Teekyuu’s debut season immediately made a name for itself as result of its proudly bizarre antics and rapid-fire jokes. Fans could count on getting swept up in the 2-minute whirlwind of a show each week, but of course they ended up hungry for more.
Teekyuu 2 continued the style of comedy that the first season was known for, as the four main girls yet again found themselves just about everywhere except the tennis court. This might seem odd because technically they do belong to a tennis club – but that’s exactly what this how is about. Odd. A very, VERY fast sort of odd, yet somehow charming and funny too.
There is very little difference between the first and second seasons, but there’s no reason to change the formula. Teekyuu manages to be hilarious without being plain dumb or distasteful – and it also has incredible replay value due to its uncompromising delivery. It’s wacky and unpredictable – but you can count on getting a laugh from just about each episode which is quite an achievement considring its short run time. The last thing you need to enjoy Teekyuu would be a long attention span.
If you liked season 1 then rejoice – Teekyu 2 is back with a vengeance. And it has no plans to slow down.
